Spinal Stenosis

Spinal Stenosis is a narrowing or pinching of the nerves originating from the spinal cord or a narrowing of the spinal cord itself. Common causes of spinal stenosis include degenerative disc disease, disc herniation, arthritis, bony spurs or surgical scarring. Stenosis can cause radiculopathy as defined above or it can cause pain that does not radiate. Stenosis may also cause neurogenic claudication – which is a pain into the legs made worse with walking even a short distance.
